Once Again

If I said I was used to this by now I would be lying to you. It’s almost shameful how many times I’ve been let go from a job without substantial reasons. Only times which mattered are those whom I still keep in touch with following my exit based on good terms.

Late last night I attempted accessing my work dashboard via the WP-Orion management system. My log-in information apparently ceased to exist – further verified by discovering the deletion of my work email account.

What the hell? I growled at my PC.

Following discovery of other app credentials for my work also being deleted, I placed a disgruntled but professional phone call to the CEO/my primary contact. No answer so I left a voicemail.

Around the time of my middle brother passing, received a new SEO assignment from the CEO of the web studio company. Explaining what has transpired, time away from the company was granted. Additiomally, I was informed this project is on low-priority status – meaning two weeks away is acceptable at this point in time. Needless to say, took advantage of the full two weeks.

Received a phone call this morning from the CEO explaining my removal from the company. The company is currently “transitioning towards a new direction”, he exclaimed. That’s all well and good but where does that leave me? Given the amount of SEO related work or lack thereof during this period, the assignment(s) now go to the Head Web Designer. Summarizing: there’s simply not enough work coming in to justify retention and related costs.

Despite removal from the reputable company, a recommendation letter has been drawn up. Even more so, a “good word” will be put in for any new applications I place for other SEO companies in my home state. Weighing the pro’s and con’s of good intentions, the current SEO market is highly comptetitive which means potentially no new SEO clients for weeks, perhaps months.

While there is the potential for starting my own all-in-one design to SEO business, licensing costs, program costs, and others associated may do more harm than good in my current economic state.

Back to the drawing board, I suppose.

I hope you are strong enough to face this kind of challenge. People with other jobs out there are also having similar problem, worldwide. I don’t even know who are exactly to be blamed. Or is there none to be blamed at all?
